Cuttack has all the ingredients of progressive  district on the demographic indicators. The decadal growth rate has declined to a healthy level at 14.00%, much below the national and state growth rates. The declining trend has firmly set in as the following graph shows. At this rate, by the end of next two decades, population of Cuttack will stabilize.
